AD7528JRZ Dual 8-Bit Buffered Multiplying DAC

The AD7528JRZ is a CMOS dual 8-bit buffered multiplying digital-to-analog converter from Analog Devices. It integrates two matched DAC channels with separate on-chip latches, reference inputs, and feedback resistors for DAC A and DAC B. Each channel supports four-quadrant multiplication. Typical applications identified by Analog Devices include digital gain and attenuation control, filter-parameter control, stereo audio circuits, and X-Y graphics. The AD7528JRZ is the J-grade model supplied in a 20-lead wide SOIC package.

Both DAC latches share a common 8-bit digital input port, while the DAC A/DAC B control input selects which channel receives the data. The load cycle is similar to a random-access-memory write cycle, and the device is bus compatible with most 8-bit microprocessors, including the 6800, 8080, 8085, and Z80.
